Preston Seed Library & Exchange

The Idea Exchange in Preston has something new to offer gardeners of all ages and skills,  Idea Exchange, Preston Seed Library. The Preston Seed Library is a free program with the goal of increasing awareness of and supporting sustainable food and gardening practices while building community. The Seed Library hopes to celebrate biodiversity, nurture locally adapted plant varieties, encourage time spent in nature, as well as foster community connections and a culture of sharing through seed saving and sharing.

The Seed Library was co-created by Emma Campbell and Beth Lanigan. and  owes great thanks to Preston Community Garden for their generous support and knowledge, as well as the donation of the beautiful cabinet that  holds the collection. We are also grateful to Seeds of Diversity for their wonderful donation of heirloom and non-GMO seeds.

Members can browse our seed collection and take out seeds for their own use. We encourage members to learn how to save seeds and return saved seeds to us, as well. Donations of purchased seeds are also welcome
